Private investigator
Wong Gai
He means well. Clear some space.
He means well. Clear some space.
Wong is a white Chinese-American private investigator with a speech impediment, a room above Wok N Roll, and a habit of volunteering before he knows what he has agreed to. He wants to solve the case, help the person, and prove he belongs.
He notices real details. A name, song, label, or half-remembered fact can convince him he knows what they mean. Then he acts, and his private misunderstanding becomes everybody else’s afternoon.
Larry supplies help, Wei counts the cost, and JJ remembers him before the business cards. Wong can be useful, witty, and surprisingly right. That is why people still let him try.
