More giving does not explain less money
A reader asks that the original question remain on the books.
To the editor: I have read the account of Mr. Gai’s additional collection. A successful collection can be good news without being an answer to a missing collection.
Please continue reporting the original shortage as an unanswered question. Otherwise we will know how much confidence the inquiry produced and still not know where the money went.
