Residents asked to leave affected bedding undisturbed

A notice from the police bulletin concerning the recent break-ins.

Community notices · Tribune desk

Residents discovering disturbed bedding or missing mattress labels are asked to preserve the affected area while the break-ins are investigated.

The absence of missing cash or jewelry does not settle the question of unauthorized entry. Moving a mattress to look for additional clues may also move the clues already there.

The department’s full statement is available on its own Internet bulletin. The Tribune’s report and Wong Gai’s separate observations are linked below.

Statements referred to in this report

Read the department’s statement on the Fort Vale Police website. Wong Gai has published his own observations on his investigator’s site.
