The department’s public-information copy concerns discrepancies between questions submitted for the Fort Vale High science symposium and material produced by the answer system. This record is from 1997.
Original disks, file labels and any retained copy of a displayed reply should be preserved separately. Correcting a label or overwriting a disk may remove information needed to reconstruct the sequence.
An account should state whether the person submitted a question, handled a disk, used the school equipment or observed an answer. These are different points of access.
A displayed reply does not establish that the person named on a submitted question authored that reply. A label alone does not establish the contents of a file.
The Tribune’s report describes the mismatch. Mr. Gai’s inquiry also concerns skateboarders and similar names. No departmental finding concerning those persons is issued here.
The notice concerns preservation and description of records. It does not identify the person responsible for altering the material.
